Foreigner's 40th Anniversary Lip Syncing Tour

Review by W. O'Boogie

Thinking of seeing Foreigner's 40th anniversary tour? Be aware that lead singer Kelly Hansen lip syncs his vocals.

It came as a shock after the opening bands, Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience and Cheap Trick rocked the venue. No lip syncing for Bonham's James Dylan or for Trick's Robin Zander.

How do I know Hansen was lip syncing? The large screen projectors made it very easy to detect. There was no lag or latency when Dylan or Zander sang but it was very obvious once Hansen started prancing around the stage. If you're going to fake it make sure the jumbo-trons are not focused on your face.

In fact, the entire sound dynamic changed when Foreigner took the stage. Whereas, Bonham and Cheap Trick had a powerful live presence, Foreigner's sound sounded sterile and digitized as if the entire band was playing to a prerecorded CD.

It's a sad day when one of rock's more notable bands relegates itself to the level of a lip syncing Katy Perry concert.

If it weren't for the show Bonham (1 hour) and Cheap Trick (90 minutes) put on I would have asked for a refund.

Concert goers beware.
