Marc Stevens - Information Doesn't Equal Evidence and Evidence Doesn't Always Equal Proof

Information doesn't always equal evidence, evidence doesn't always equal proof. Critical thinking and analysis must be rigorously applied to our propositions and conclusions.

Just saying something is true doesn't make it true. Just having information doesn't mean it supports and proves your conclusion. Writing on a piece of paper it applies to everyone doesn't mean it does and repeating the assertion doesn't magically make the claim true.

Information that logically proves the claim is what makes it true or not. Relying on logical fallacies such as circular logic, non sequiturs, proof by assertion, appeals to authority and consequences, do not prove written instruments apply to people.
